Welcome to Nursery
Paws, Claws and Whiskers
Soft fur, sharp claws and twitching whiskers… What’s your favourite animal? One that meows? One that barks? Or maybe one that scurries or slithers?
From pets at home, to animals in the zoo, stemming from our enthusiasm and our interest in animals, Nursery will be discovering, what animals like to eat and where they like to sleep.
With the help of Jane, we shall spend time visiting and learning how to care for our school animals. We will read animal stories and non-fiction texts. We will draw, sing, dance and move like animals and we look forward to welcoming (hopefully friendly) animals into class!
We will continue to build our new relationships as we welcome new children into the setting and we are excited to introduce new areas and enhancements to the classrooms.
As some of us begin to prepare for school. We will make sure we practise our personal, social and emotional skills as well as our communication skills. Aside from which we will work hard on being able to recognise and use numbers as well as being able to write our names and some letters as we continue to ‘fly with phonics!
We are most excited by our adventures and the term ahead. We pride ourselves in our communication with parents and tweet daily. Why don't you follow us on Twitter? You can find the links below!
We also complete electronic Learning Journals, and actively encourage parents not only to regularly observe our learning, but to also share experiences and activities that are completed at home.
Thank you for your continued support. We cannot wait to watch the children grow in all areas of learning!
We welcome you into our classroom at any time, to come and engage in our stimulating and enabling environment. Make sure you look out for our masterpieces, and our next step displays.
Nursery session in a morning is at 8.45am - 11.45am, and the afternoon session is 12.30pm - 3.30pm. We would ask you to wait outside the Nursery gate until a member of the Nursery team comes to let you in. You are welcome to join us at the beginning of each session.
Please can you provide a change of clothes in a named bag which can be left on your child’s peg, as children participate in messy activities or may have an accident. Items to include; socks, underwear, trousers, t-shirts, nappies and wipes if applicable.
