Vice Chair of Governors, LA Governor

I am a retired clergyman, living in Anderton and have been associated with this School for some 16 years, taking Assemblies and assisting RE class work.

I have been an LA Governor of the School for some 8 years and am currently Vice Chair. I also serve as Chair to the Leadership and Management Committee and Teaching and Learning Committee.

It is a joy to serve this School community and seeing different generations of the same families pass through our care.

Parent Governor

I am a Parent Governor as my grandson attends our school, as did my two sons.

In 2013 I took early retirement after a career in university facilities management. I am very proud of our school and was keen to give my time after retirement to support the staff in continuing their fantastic work for our children.

In previous roles I have worked closely with schools, particularly primary schools and nurseries. I feel that this experience will be helpful in the development of Early Years education at Barnton.

Co-opted Governors

I am a mother of two, stepmother of three, and have five young grandchildren.

I hold a firm belief that good education is key to raising expectations and giving children the tools for a successful life, and I have joined the school team to play a part in this delivery.

I  have recently taken early retirement from a Senior Management position in the Nuclear Industry, where I spent over 35 years, working predominantly in the commercial area establishing and managing 'high value' contracts with UK Government and overseas customers, as well as leading major HR and Organisational Change initiatives.

I believe that the skills, competence and experience that I bring will complement and reinforce the outstanding capabilities that currently exist within the school.

Co-opted Governor

I have been teaching PE since 1989, having begun my teaching career in Derbyshire and then Manchester, where the school I taught in became one of the first Sports Colleges in the country. It was a very exciting time to be in teaching. I joined Weaverham High School in 1999 as Head of PE and in 2004 joined the Senior Leadership team, initially working with the trainee teachers and also any newly qualified teachers who were employed to teach in the school.

Within my school I am currently responsible for teacher and support staff appraisal, welfare and attendance. I introduced the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme at the school and now support it as more than 100 pupils participate. I lead Continuous Professional Development in the school and coordinate the Northwich School Direct Teacher Training Alliance with a range of schools locally in Northwich.

I decided to stand as a governor because I know the difference that a good school can make for every child and I wanted to support the school in making sure that every child has a good education.

Tracy Hooper

Parent Governor

I have a HR background with a large multi-national company, but now work part time as a HR Consultant.

I have lived in Anderton for approximately 15 years, and I am married with one son who attends Barnton Community Primary School.

As a co-opted governor, I am keen to continue driving the school forwards as we seek to further raise standards.

Co-opted Governor

I have served as a teacher for over 20 years, during which time I have been both a teacher governor and parent governor. I was Head of Infants before having my own two children, but taught all ages at primary, secondary and further education levels, including time as Education Lecturer to nursery nurse students.

My grandson is now a very happy member of a reception class at Barnton. I have always believed that every child's right is to have the very best education. Now that I am retired I have the time to be involved in my grandson's school and local community in a less direct but still pro-active way, being lucky enough to draw on my experience to ensure the best possible outcomes for each and every child in our school.

I have worked at Barnton Community Primary School for eight years, and I absolutely love it!

Currently I am teaching in Year 6, but as KS2 Leader I have experience across the key stage. My specialism is English, which I lead throughout school. I am also a Specialist Leader of Education for Cheshire West and Chester.

Inspiring children to achieve and believe in their dreams is at the heart of all we do in Barnton, and I am very proud to be part of it!

Mrs Annette Williams (Headteacher)

I have been the Headteacher here at Barnton Community Primary School, since 2007.

As an experienced Headteacher, and Local Leader of Education, I have been fortunate to develop my leadership and management skills as I have been involved in school improvement projects across the North West of England.

I am immensely proud of the work we do here at Barnton and am passionate about providing opportunities to inspire, so that every child will have self-belief, excel and can achieve their full potential.
